私は陶という素材を通して、 形がどのように立ち上がり、 その中に時間や身体の感覚、記憶がどのように宿るのかを考えながら制作を行っている。 制作の中心に茶盌という形式を据えているのは、 それが単なる器ではなく、 使われること、触れられること、 ある時間と空間を成立させることを前提とした造形だからである。 茶盌は日本文化の中で、 器物、身体の所作、空間、時間意識、精神的態度が交差する場として機能してきた。 私の制作は、そうした場の内部で何が起きているのかを、 形の変化や質感の差異を通して確かめる試みでもある。 作品の中では、 同じ形の中に異なる質感や時間の気配が共存したり、 わずかなズレや不均衡が残されている。 それは破壊や修復の物語を示すためではなく、 物質と身体、過去と現在といった複数の要素が、 どのようにひとつの形として結び直されるのかを見つめるためである。 制作とは、物質を扱う技術であると同時に、 世界との関係を静かに組み替えていく思考のプロセスだと考えている。 陶という素材は、そのプロセスを最も率直に引き受けてくれる媒体である。

I work with clay as a material through which I consider how form comes into being,
and how time, bodily sensation, and memory come to reside within it.

I place the tea bowl at the center of my practice because it is not merely a vessel.
It is a form that presupposes use, touch,
and the formation of a particular moment in time and space.

Within Japanese culture, the tea bowl has functioned as a site
where objects, bodily actions, space, time, and states of mind intersect.
My work seeks to examine what occurs within such a site,
through shifts in form and differences in surface and texture.

Within each piece,
different textures and traces of time may coexist within a single form,
and slight misalignments or imbalances are often left intact.
These are not intended to narrate acts of destruction or repair,
but rather to observe how multiple elements—
material and body, past and present—
are brought together and reconfigured as one form.

For me, making is both a technical engagement with material
and a process of quietly reconsidering one’s relationship to the world.
Clay is the medium that most directly accepts and reveals this process.
